Since posting my question, I have found information that is consistent with your suggestion. In other words, Johann Heinrich Skeils appears to be the Henry Skiles that is my John Allen Skiles' father. I have also found that Johann Heinrich's father was also known as "Henry" Skiles and that he purchased property in the northern portion of Codorus Township in 1770. This elder Henry died prior to 1799 when his heirs sold the property. I also found information that a Henry Skiles, from York County, participated in the Revolutionary War in the 5th Battalion of the Pennsylvania Milita. Do you have any other information on either the elder Henry or Johann Heinrich than described in this followup or my original posting??
