Thank you for responding.Im trying to obtain information on the Skiles and Skile's slaves of early Greenbrier Co. WV. hoping to find the parents of the Charles Skiles below:

Died:unknown--between 1870 and 1880 in Greenbrier Co. VA
(Charles Sr. was found on the 1870 census....wife Mary was listed as widow in 1880)
Father:unknown
Mother:unknown
Marriage:Mary Coulter (also born 1808)
Married :approx 1828 in (best guess- Greenbrier Co. WV)
Children:
1]Sallie :born 1829..never married
2]Laura:born 1837..married Anthony Holmes 11-15-1866
3]John :born1841..unmarried as of 1880, but living near
brother Charles in Gallia Co. Ohio in 1880, in the
home of Daniel Lewis of WV.
4] Mannie: (daughter) born 1842, died 12-28-1888 age 46
married C. Ward.
5] Cornelia: born 1845..married first to ______Pride, then
married Peter Holmes 12-14-1871
6] Charles Jr.: born 1849-- married first to Martha J. Stephenson, then married Nannie (Nancy)______________.
*Note,Brothers,John and Charles moved to Gallia
County OH shortly after their father's death.This family was found in Greenbrier County VA in 1870.
*Note, sisters Laura and Cornelia married brothers Peter and Anthony Holmes.

Found is Elizabeth Skiles in Greenbrier County Deeds and Will Book. She is mentioned in the will of William Hamilton, page 185, sec. 698-99. The will is dated 2/27/1824. Elizabeth is mentioned along with several others. There were slaves given to these individuals, which to whom is does not mention. The slaves names were: Lucy, Adaline, MaryAnn, Charles, Susan and Fillis.
*****I found this to be the daughter of William Hamilton.Elizabeth Hamilton married Henry Skiles 1802.Henry was the father of Jacob Skiles.
