To follow this up:
Paul Skidmore was married to Francis M Gwathmey who was another daughter of Ann Clark and Owen Gwathmey. I believe the M stands for Meriwether.
So there is no wiggle room in this. The a Col William Booth and Rebecca Hite family was intermarried into the Clark family of Ann Clark who was the sister of William Clark of Lewis and Clark. This is confirmed by cemetery records in Pittsburgh.
The other question was if Paul Skidmore is connected to the General Contracting and Design firm of Skidmore and Owings. I would have to say yes because I had "Hay" family members who worked for that firm on building the Oak Ridge Tenn processing plant. It should have been named Skidmore, Owings, Hay and Myers.
So it goes back to the question of John Hay and Joshua Fry Speed and their connection to a Booth family. From what I can see by the descendents and what they are doing, it seems to be actually "The Extended Booth Acting Family".
