Hi Tammy
Jabez Skelton & Mary Bryant were my great, great, great grandparents through their daughter Sarah Jane. My info comes from a few sources, so there may be some discrepancies, but here goes JABEZ b.01.10.1802 Stoke Dameral Devon d.03.12.1882, Occupation teacher/blacksmith. MARY BRYANT b. 14.11.1816 Stoke Dameral, Devon d.1954 Sydney, NSW Occupation teacher. They married 04.02.1837 Stoke Dameral, Devon. Jabez's father was William b.1767 Stoke Dameral, Devon d.1830 Devonport, Devon. Mother's name was Mary.
Mary Bryant's father was Thomas & mother Mary. It appears Jabez was married before in 1821 to Ann Spry & had at least 3 children. I have info on them.
Jabez & Mary had 7 children that I know of: *SARAH JANE b.14.11 1837 Devonport d.1915 m.Edward Hunt (ex convict) 03.09.1853. I have their family details if you want those.
*MARTHA b.1839 m. G Porter 1861 d.14.12.1932 West Manilla. *JABEZ b.1841 m. Sophia. *REUBEN d.1844 on voyage to Australia. *EBENEZER b.1847 at Chippendale NSW I have written "died lost in bush", but I can't remember where I got that from.*WILLIAM b.1849 d. same year. *JOHN b.1851 at Chippendale m. Margaret Seckold Wingen NSW 27.10.1871 d.02.01.1917 Boggabri NSW
Hope this is something to go on with!
