A death certificate recorded Sept. 1862 states that "Allan Skellenger" was the father of a three year old child died of Diptheria on March 29, 1862. Allen was murdered in Stokes on Septemer 15, 1861. The 1870 Federal Census records, Jason T. is not listed, but there is a son Isaac listed to be 11. The death certificate was given to me by Ron Skellenger. v. ISAAC SKELLENGER, b. April 24, 1861. Notes for ISAAC SKELLENGER: Isaac was not born yet according to the 1860 Federal Census. By 1870 Isaac was 11 years old, so I assume he wasn't born yet at the time of Allen's murder. I have heard that Isaac went to Port Jervis, New York. Anyone with any information on a Skellenger, please post your message....
