Dear Roselynn, Genforum never notified me that you replied to my original post and I have only discovered your reply this March. I am trying to locate a male descendant of Robert Louis Skeen that has the Skeen surname. One such descendant, who also has a maternal-side ancestor named Frederick Walter, has anonymous DNA results posted to Sorenson Molecular Genetics Foundation. I am trying to locate him, or any other Skeen male, to test with Family Tree DNA. I will pay for the test. Prior to the adoption of surnames, no later than the 14th Century, My Colson line and the Robert Louis Skeen line appear to be genetically related. Some unusual mutations are uniquely shared between this Skeen and my Y-DNA. This Robert Louis Skeen descendant does not share Y-DNA that is common to others with the Skene/Skeen surname. So to answer your question: I'm related to this Skeen family during the medieval period. Does that exclude me from the family reunion? :-) Regards, Steven Colson Notify Administrator about this message?
