This Indenture made the twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hudred and forty eight between George SIVERT and Sarah his wife of Marshall County and State of Virginia of the one part and William TURNER of the County this and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said George SIVERT and Sarah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Seven hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said William TURNER at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof this receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof acquit and forever discharge the said William TURNER his heirs Executors and Administrators by these presents have granted, bargained, sold, alienated, enfeoffedand released and confirmed and by these presents do gerant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff and confirm unto the said William TURNER and to his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land whereon the said George SIVERT and family doth now live in Marshall County Virginia being part of a tract of land containing one hundred and fourteen acres conveyed to John SIVERT Deceased by Martin WHETZELL, this part now conveyed descended to George SIVERT as heirs at law of the afsd John SIVERT decd and contains sixty one acres and is bounded as follows viz beginning at a rock on the west side of EARLYWINES run, thence South fifteen degrees west six poles to a Sasafras. Thence South twenty six poles to white oak (nigh the falls) thence South Seventeen East twenty six poles to an elm. Thence South thirty seven degrees west sixty poles to a poplar, thence South Sixty four degrees East fifty six poles to a Beech, thence North fifty nine degrees East fifty two poles to a white oak. thence South seventy five degrees East thirty four poles to a gum. thence North forty three poles to a dogwood corner to Jacob SIVERT thence with his line North Eighty two degrees East one hundred poles to the beginning contaning sixty one acres according to a plat exibeted (? hard to read word) by the afsd George. Together with all and singular there the rights liberties hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to the said described or any part thereof. To have and to hold the above described tract with its appurtenances and buildings and whatsoever thereunto belongeth hereby sold and granted mentioned or intended so to be with its appurtenances unto the said William TURNER his heirs and assigns forever. And the said George SIVERT and Sarah his wife for themselves their heirs Executors and administrators do covenant grant bargain and agree to and with the said William TURNER his heirs and assigns that at the time of the ensealing and delivery of these presents they were well seized of the premises above Conveyed in an absolute estate in the law in Fee simple and the said George SIVERT and Sarah his wife doth hereby bind themselves their heirs executor and administrators. that they will warrant and defend the above described premises with with(unsure if word is with again) all the appurtenances thereto belonging unto the said William TURNER his heirs and assigns forever. In testimony whereof the said George SIVERT and Sarah his wife have hereto subscribed their names and affixed theis seals the day and year above written signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us} George SIVERT seal Sarah SIVERT X her mark seal State of Virginia Marshall County We Jacob KELLER and J. T. McCREARY justices of the peace of the aforesaid county and state do hereby certify that George SIVERT and Sarah his wife partys to a certain Deed bearing date the twentieth day of March one thousand eight hundred and forty eight and hereto annexed personally appeared befoe us in our county aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be thier act and deed and desired us to certify the said acknowledgement to the clerk of the county court of Marshall county in order to be recorded according to law. Thee the above Sarah being of lawful age separate and apart from her said husband by us examined and the full contents of the said deed to her made known whereupon she did declare that she did voluntarily and of her own free will and accord seal + as her act and deed deliver the same without any coercion or compulsion of her said husband whatever. And wished not to retract it Given under our hands and seals the third day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight. Jacob KELLER seal John T. McCREARY seal Virginia Clerk's Office. Marshal, County Court. April 18th 1848 This Deed from George SIVERT + wife to William TURNER was this day received in my office for record. And being duly certified by two justices of the peace for Marshall County the said Deed and certificate are admitted to record. Teste James D. MORRIS clk John T.
