This Indenture made this 7th day of November AD 1848 by and between Jacob SIVERT and Mary Jane SIVERT formerly Mary Jane MORROW heirs at law of the late Adam MORROW decd of the first part. And John WINTERS of the second part (all of the County of Marshall State of Virginia) witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said partys of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have and/by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs forever all their right title interest and claim of in and to a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County of Marshall aforesaid adjoining the lands of John WHERRY and others being the same conveyed to the said heirs of Adam MORROW by deed from Thomas THORNBURG + wife bearing date the 10th day of Oct 1843. Together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining thereunto to have and to hold the said premises above described to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns for his only proper use benefit and behoof forever. And the said parties of the first part for themselves their heirs and assigns do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that they will their heirs executors and assigns warrant and forever defend the above bargained premises to him the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written

We John T. McCREARY and Jacob KELLER Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid do hereby Certify that Jacob SIVERT a party to the foregoing deed bearing date this 7th day of Nov. 1848 personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act, and deed and desired us to Certify the same to the Clerk of the County Court of our said County of Marshall in order that the same may be recorded. And we do further Certify that Mary Jane the wife of said Jacob SIVERT parties to the said Deed personally appeared before us in our said County and being examined by us privily and apart from her husband and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her. She the said Mary Jane acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and declared that she had willingly signed sealed and delivered the same and that she wished not to retract it. Given under our hands and seals this 7th day of November 1848.

This deed from Jacob SIVERT + wife to John WINTERS was this day received in my office for record and being duly certified by two justices of the peace for Marshall County, the Said Deed and Certificate are admitted to record~ Teste James D.
