A number of Sitton family members married into the Whitt/Witt family (which is my interest). This message posted in the hope that it helps someone. It took me a merry chase to make the connection. I have the Whitt parentage information if anyone is interested. Please reply to this forum so that all can share.
Mary Emma Sitton (b. ca 1844 GA d/o above parents) married John W. Whitt. Subsequent census references in Cherokee Co., AL., Fannin Co., TX and Indian Terr./OK.
Samuel Y. Sitton (b. ca 1856 GA s/o above parents) Living with his sister Mary E. Whitt in 1880 in Fannin Co., TX. Later with wife Claudia in Smith Co., TX,
Sarah Ann "Sally" Sitton who seems to be the daughter of Jacob and Ann (Ray/Wray?) Sitton. She married Lansford Alexander Whitt. Later of Dade Co., GA. Lansford and John W. Whitt were brothers.
Any additional information and especially corrections would be appreciated.
