Alan,
I'm the one with the Aunt Agnes Poe. She claimed last year
her daughter had the Bible. I Joan her daughter who told
me Belinda had it. Belinda was in the process of moving and
it took her sometime to relocate the Bible.
I wanted to go see it but she gave the reason for not seeing
the Bible because there was nothting written in it.
My cousin Cathy tried to talk her into letting us see it
but Belinda wouldn't budge. This was last March 2001.
Since then Aunt Ag has passed away. Belinda still lives in
Neshoba Co. and so does Joan her mother.
I guess I'll have to wait a while to approach Belinda again
about looking at the Bible "just to see their old Bible".
Also I've been in touch with the Sistrunks and I believe
I have the most accurate information on this family.

I have searched the old court records in Taylor Co. GA
it seems Rhody was receiving government aid in 1859.
Also there was a suit filed against a Sarah Sutton at the
time for fornacation. If this is true this Sarah Sutton
wasn't married or it would have been adultry. So there
must have been at least two Sarah Suttons in Taylor Co.
GA or Sarah must have been div or widowed at this time.

I also see there was a John Sutton who served in the
war from Taylor Co. GA. But I haven't located his military
record yet.

There are people tracing this line who seem to think
Sarah was married to a Powell Sutton who was in the war
at the time. Josephines' oldest brother John's middle int.
is "P" could this be Powell?
My problem with this particular lead is the dates. They
don't add up. It's still possible Powell is related but
I'm still reseaching this. I am working on how long the
Sutton's lived in the Taylor area. According to the census
of 1860 all the children were born in GA. But not the
two adults.
But I still don't know if the Sarah on this census is the
mother of these children. Or an Aunt who committed adultry
in the court records.
Keep looking and let me hear from you some more.
