Jane, It's wonderful to hear from you. I've been working on this line off and on for some time now and haven't had a lot of luck. But, found on the 1870 Taylor Co., GA census there is a Josey Suten 16 and Lona Suten 19. Based on this information, I now believe that the family lore may not be entirely acurate. We, Carolyn Sutton who found the 1870 data, and myself beleive that Lona from the 1870 data is actually Vicey L. from the 1860 data, and that Vicey (Lona) my have stayed behind with Josephine to care for her (possibly under a Dr. Mars supervision). However, it would seem that the whole family didn't leave Georgia together. I've also been working with Thomas Sistrunk on this line. He's been in contact with someone who has located Josephine's family bible. It was passed down to Josephine's daughter Agnes Poe who was still alive in Philadelphia, MS. She was 97 years old Jan, 2000. Aunt Ag gave it to her daughter Joan who in turn gave it to her daughter Belinda. The person that Tom is in contact with was trying to get the information from Belinda the last we talked. I haven't heard back on this in a while. I think it's time I followed up on this. All I really have on this family is the census data. Do you know how this family from the 1860 data fits together? Is Sarah the mother? Is Rhody the Grandmother, Sarah's mother or mother-in-law? Anything you may know would be appreciated. Thanks, Alan Notify Administrator about this message?
