Robert Haile Sisson (1894-1986)Essex County, Tappahannock, VA., son of Richard Howard Sisson (1865-1943) and Cora Winder Sisson (1874-1950). Richard's parents were George Savage Winder (1839-1924 buried at the Old Soldier's Home for Confederates) and Mary Elizabeth Brooke (1843-?). Robert had a brother, Edward Winder Sisson (1904-1995), a newsreporter in Tampa, FL. married Helen Cusak of Ontario and had daughters: Patricia Moore and Jane Collins. Robert enlisted in WWI, and worked for Safeway. Robert married Mary Louise Southworth (deceased) and raised four daughters in Alexandria, VA: Mary Louise S. Greenlaw of Fredericksburg, Betty S. Tancredi of Tappahannock, Anne S. Miles (deceased) of Hyattsville, MD., and June S. Martin of Maine, ten grandchildren (I am Anne's daughter) nine gr.grandchildren and nine gr.gr.grandchildren.
His wife, Louise Southworth Sisson, attended the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Balt. MD, was the daughter of Harrison Southworth who served in the VA Legislature and was Clerk of the Court in Essex County, VA. Brother is Charles J. Southworth of Baltimore.
