Charleen: I would very much lke to learn more about the Sisson Family. I just moved to Talmo, GA, Jackson County (approx. 55 miles NE of Atlanta, GA). In the process of exploring the local woods I came across a famly cemetery for the Sisson's Family. John's headstone says he was born in 1742 and died in 1840. Alongside the grave is a marker posted by the local DAR indicating that John was a Revolutionary War veteran. Next to John is "Sarah", who I assume is his wife. She died 8/6/1819 at the age of 96. The last headstone is for Vandrey Sissons, age 50, died 6/2/1812. Nearby I discovered the remains of the Sisson Plantation House - just two grand chimineys (main room, kitchen). This area is adjacent to our new community in an undeveloped area. I would love to develop a plan to preserve this area in perpituity. May seek funding from recently legislation designed to help with this type preservation project. Any help finding more info concerning connections between John & Sarah and other Sissons would be greatly appreciated!
