I've never heard the story about the name originating from that source. From what I've found the spelling was changed from de Cessna to all the various spellings we have now; Sisney, Cisney, Cessna, Cissne, etc. You can find the Sisney name on a few wills and property titles in the Pennsylavania area in the mid 1700's. Even in Cessna, Pennsylvania they pronounce the name very much like our Sisney name is spelled but more like Cisnay.
