I have more information on my great grandfather now. He went by John Lucas and lived a large part of his life in Kentucky. From what I have learned his last name was actually Sipple and he was from Penn. As a young man he liked to gamble and there was some kind of trouble. He left PA and changed his name to Lucas which was his Mother's maiden name. He was married or had been at the time and had at least 2 sons, one named Curtis. They came to visit in Kentucky a few times and one lived there for a while and worked in Burgin KY. with his half brother who was my grandfather. He was arrested on a very serious charge and was tried and convicted and sent to prison either in PA. or Kentucky. In Kentucky, John married Laura Benson and had a huge family. My aunt said he was always a very cautious man and worried about the kids when they were out working in the field, and that he usually carried a gun. He died in 1960 and is buried in Mercer Co. KY. If anyone has any information on him or might Know who he was in his former life, It would be greatly appreciated. I am only asking for information and would be glad to share all I have.
