In 2005, I went to Hesse to look for the town where my great grandfather, Charles F Sippel, was born. He was the son of Johannes Sippel and Anna Christina Berge - both of Hesse county. There is a small village in Hesse called Oberlengsfeld - it's little more than a street. Half of the village (100 people?) is populated with Sippels. I met and spoke with a few, but my German wasn't strong enough to get a lot of information. Anyway, there are so many Sippels there, and Anna and Johann are about the most popular names of that era, so there could be many names that you think are leads, but there are just multiple Sippels with those names. The main geneology office can be found in Bad Hersfeld, near Oberlengsfeld, and also in county Hesse. I'm sure someone could help with translation either on this end or that. I recommend visiting - it's a very lovely place. Good luck in your search!
