Revolutionary War of US (coat of arms)
Back before the Revolutionary war many families were still distinguishing their surnames with a coat-of-arms.Although, not all families did this. What I am trying to is to find out is which of my ancestral surnames had a coat of arms.I have seen at least two different ones for the surname of Sink.
The first one I have seen is a silver shield with either the upper or lower half red, and the mantle (the decoration behind it)with the same two colors. There is a knight's helmet facing to your left with either a leopard, lioness, or some other cat on top of the helmet facing left also.Hope this terrible description is somewhat understandable.
The second one has two or three round objects on the shield, and I do not remember what the rest of it looks like.
Supposedly Abraham Sink of Pennsylvania fought with another Sink who I am a direct decendent of.To the best of my memory after that Sink is, David Sink, then Samuel Sink, then Willis Otto (of Otto Willis, no one knows for sure), J.D. Sink, and at last me, Harold D. Sink.I live in Oklahoma where the last three mentioned have all been born.
Let me know if this is not enough information, and how I could better write this.Writing is obviously not my forte.
Thanks.
Harold Sink
