I ran across the following book at the Newberry Genealogical Library in Chicago. The material following the library citation is quoted from that book.It seems most certain that this is the Sink line you are tracing. Can you track down a copy of this book?
"The Heritage of Rowan County, North Carolina"; Katherine Sanford Petrucelli, editor.
Publication Info. Salisbury, N.C. : Genealogical Society of Rowan County, 1991-
ISBN 0912081171
LCCN 92-180080.
Item #980, Page 646
The progenitor of the Sinks in this area today was Jacob Zinckh who arrived in Philadelphia from Wurtenbur;g, Germany on 30 Sep 1754 and took The Oath of Allegiance on the same day.In 1759 his name is on a Militia List in Rowan Co, NC, as well as tax lists for 1759 and 1761.In 1761 he entered into an agreement to purchase 300 acres of land and in 1763 received a deed for the land in Rowan Co.
Jacob Zinckh was married to Derrodea ca. 1748 and their children were Johannes Zinck, born ca 1750, died ca. 1792; Philip and Catherine, Michael; Christian, Elizabeth, and Barbara Zinck.
