Dewey H. Singleton

ARCADIA, LA - Graveside services for Dewey H. Singleton, 80, of Arcadia to be held on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Brother Danny Baskin will be officiating with internment under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Arcadia. Visitation to be held Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Arcadia.

Dewey was born on October 28, 1928 in Lincoln Parish to Anna Doris Dye Singleton and Odie Rance Singleton. He passed away on August 27, 2009 in the Northern Louisiana Medical Center, Ruston.

Dewey was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Dubach. Most of his years in the construction business were spent working for Louisiana Paving and Neatherton Construction.

Dewey is preceded in death by a most dear sister, Bernie S. Williams. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gayle Chandler Singleton; son Ken Singleton and wife Tammy, of Arcadia; son Keith Singleton and wife Sherrie, of Haughton; grandson Chandler Singleton of Arcadia; five step-grandchildren, Chase, Cade and Courtney Stepp and Abigail and Paige Pruett, all of Haughton; sister Virgie S. Wallace and husband Don, of Arcadia; sister Carma S. Cook of Shreveport; a very special brother-in-law Jay Williams, of Shreveport; niece Jan Wallace Brisco of Shreveport; nephew Barry cook; niece Deanna Cook Carter of Simi Valley, CA; niece Helen Ann Williams Brasher of Houston, TX; great nephew, Jack Brasher and great niece, Mary Ann Brasher, both oh Houston, TX.

Honorary pallbearers are to be Ken Singleton, Keith Singleton, Chandler Singleton, Jay Williams, Ron Cavanaugh and Lee Derrick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be forwarded to Salem United Methodist Church, 11793 Hwy 151, Dubach, LA 71235. Rose-Neath Funeral Home
