SARAH JANE SINGLETON
A Sarah Jane Singleton married a William Sport around 1840-1850. I don't know much about the 1870 census and who was living with the Singletons. However, in my research for Adline Oglesby,who was living with Sarah Jane Sport (Singleton)in the 1850 census in Covington County Al.. I have yet to defintely establish if Adline was the 5 yr old daughter of Sarah from a previous marriage, or an adopted child, or an orphan. I did read an account of the Wm. & Sarah Jane Sport family indicating they did have foster children for a period of time. Perhaps that the case in 1870. Also, it is my understanding that the parents of Sarah lived in Florida prior to coming to Alabama. If you have any additional information on this Singleton or Sport family I would appreciate knowing about it. I have some information which I am happy to share with you.
