Peter(born about 1819, NC)and Dorcus (born about 1819, TN) Singleton, living in Stoddard County, MO in 1850, with children, Margaret, Martha, Mary, Lewis, and Eliza. In 1860, they are living in Lawrence Co. AR, with 2 more children, Elijah J. and Catherine. In 1870, Dorcus is in Decatur County, Tennessee. Eliza has married John Kimbrel (?) and has a son William. Daughter Catherine is also in the same household. There is also a Sarah E. Waters, age 12, born in Arkansas. I believe this Sarah E. to be my gg grandmother, wife of John Wesley McCormick. Can anyone tell me who Sarah's parents were? There are several marriages between the McCormicks and Singletons in the West Tennessee area. What Singleton family did Peter come from?
