Hello, I have just signed on as a volunteer administrator for the Singleton DNA Project, which is run by the World Families Network: http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/s/singleton/index.html If you are a male Singleton, you carry yDNA, which can be tested to help determine whether you share a common ancestor with other Singletons. This can be very helpful in ruling in or out other Singletons in trying to establish your genealogy. If you have already had your DNA tested, please e-mail me (at the link from the web site) your DNA marker results along with the matching pedigree, and I will post them on our site so that others can compare their results with yours. Your privacy will be respected at all times. Feel free to start your pedigree with the most recent deceased Singleton ancestor (rather than yourself) and trace back to your earliest known ancestor. If you know a male Singleton (or similar surname) who has not had his DNA tested, please urge him to do so. The more who are tested, the better understanding we will all have of our family tree. Note that brothers and possibly first cousins will likely have nearly identical DNA, so it is probably necessary only to test one of them for genealogical purposes. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks. Dan Singleton Notify Administrator about this message?
