Reading the other messages - who is/was Doss? Are we talking about Wm.Dawson? Were they part Indian? If so, from what tribe. (When I asked John J. he told me it was "none of your damn business." One of Ada's g'dau's emailed a copy of the 1880 TN census with a listing of James & Amanda family in that year. I've only heard of a few of them.
Ada apparently died in '47, in or near Gary, IN. I think she had 2 dau's.
BJ's family lives in Vienna & Jeff City, MO. The rest of John J & Josie's g'kids are scattered all over the country.
