SINGLETON'S around Henderson co TN

Still trying to piece together my SINGLETON family.

I have reason to believe that a JAMES SINGLETON, Dob: Feb 28,1863, son of LEONARD SINGLETON and MARILDA GAWF(GOFF) could be my JAMES (JIM) SINGLETON, born Feb 29, 1862.
It was brought to my attention that in 1862 there was NO leap year, so the date of my G Grandfather's birth can not be correct, There was a leap year however in 1863.

LEONARD SINGLETON is the mystery, I can not find out who his parents or siblings were.
Leonard Singleton married MARILDA GAWF Oct 11, 1852 in HENDERSON co, TN.
Their children are:1)ROBERT H. Singleton, born Oct 9, 1856
2)MARY A. Singleton, born June 4,1859
3)JAMES SINGLETON, born Feb 28, 1863

Leonard Singleton's Civil war Pension records show Guardianship being given to EDMOND GAWF(GOFF), Marilda GAWF'S father, in 1869.
Marilda remarried to a JOSHUA POOL Feb of 1868 in Henderson co, TN.
LEONARD Singleton enlisted on Sept. 1st, 1863 in the Tenn union calvary, 7th regiment, coK.
"Leonard Singleton , coK pvt, enlisted Saulsbury 9/01/63, age 27, 5"11", light complexion, blue eyes, dark hair, b:Hen co TN, farmer, in Andersonville, paroled through Savanah 11/29/64, residence Cravens Landing,d:Annapolis Maryland, in Ashgrove Cemetery, Pension has Edmond Goff as guardian of minors in 1869".
"Leonard Singleton was admitted to the W. Division General Hospital, Annapolis MD, NOV 24, 1864 from Savannah GA for treatment for Chronic diarrhea that he died from on Dec 13, 1864".

Leonard Singleton in 1860, age 24, was living in civil district 12, Henderson co, TN with his wife MARILDA, children and possibly a niece REBECCA SINGLETON. Next door to them is STERLING SINGLETON,age 41, born in NC, wife SUSANNAH and daughter SARAH C.

This STERLING SINGLETON was also in the civil war he joined on Sept. 18, 1862 in the 6th TN, calvary . He was 42 when he joined and died on Jan 4th, 1863. His wife Susannah applied for a pension on him.

I believe STERLING Singleton could have been an uncle to lEONARD Singleton.
Any information on LEONARD Singleton and who his parents and siblings were would be most welcome.
