Lillie, it has been determined that the subject person is in fact my ancestor. The daughter shown on 1880 Census as M. E. is Mary Ellen, and is my Gr.Grandmother. I am curious as to who you are searching for, that you say is an offspring of J. Singletary on that census. I have a bit of information on Mary Ellen's sister Carrie, but I know of no other offspring, than the 2 daughters. After an extended search I just located my census for 1860, Montague Co. which shows Joseph, age 24 with his brother, I. S. Singletary, (Ithamar), Pg 077. I also have not located Joseph in 1870, but I believe he may be in Scott Co. AR. in the year 1877, as I found a Joe Singletary listed in a merchants books, and several related families there in the 1870's. Write me: densmom,juno.com substituting the @ for the comma.
Betty
