Grady County GA murder.

First let me say that I suspect no murder was ever committed but I check out all leads. I recently found a hand written note (written by my mother) which claimed that one of my mother's uncles or great-uncles had been murdered by a man named Singletary. She intimated that it was her step-uncle, Sanford Hardin who was murdered but left open the possibility that it could have been one of her Chason uncles.

Has anyone with Grady County, GA; Decatur County, GA or Thomas County, GA connections any knowledge of a Singletary having murdered anyone at all?

I must say that almost every word my mother ever told me about her ancestors has proved to be 100% WRONG. I ask only because experience has taught me that even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
