Thank you very much, Jonathan. I am grateful for your effort on my behalf. At the risk of being cheeky, may I ask a couple of follow-up questions?

1. What is the formal title of the directory? (If I am to follow-up, it will most likely be at the British Library, so this intell should make it easier);

2. May I assume you looked-up Williams in the section of the directory dealing with individual residents?; if so, may I ask if there is also a section dealing with the Prisons Department? (I ask, because I wonder if that might give the prison at which he worked in 1935 and 1940 -- I understand there were several; and he seems to have been seconded to Jehore at some point).

Thank you, also, for the heads-up regarding Bill Bourke. I just found his message on Peter Winstanley's FEPOW website and will follow-up, forthwith.

Finally, may I assume you are the author of "In Oriente Primus"? If so, congratulations and thank you for that. One of the best reads I have had in years.

Ottawa, Canada
