Hi, Karen
I collect biographical data on 'British Malayans'of 1941-2 and
members of the Malayan and Straits Settlements - including Singapore - Volunteer Forces. I must check if, before being in the LDC, George served in the Scottish Company, Singapore Volunteers. I have the 1935 & 1940 Singapore & Malayan Directories. Incidently, the 1935 one records him as 'Order Dept, United Engineers.
Do have a look at our Malayan Volunteers Group website.
best wishes
Jonathan
