I don't think my first post went through right, so will try again.
My relative, Mary Ellen Gallagher born in Kilcar, emigrated 1915 to NY married Patrick McGuiness 2 July 1922 at St. Stephens in Manhattan. They were on the ship Algeria from New York to Molville 24 July 1922. Patrick's occupation is listed as "prison Warder' they are going to Main Street Kilcar (Mary's sister was still living there).
It appears that Mary died about nine months later in Kilcar, I am waiting on the certificate. Next to their names in the residence column in the passenger's list it says 'Straite Settlements". Mary had contracted TB after she emigrated and spent about two years in Otisville NY and was slated to return to Kilcar according to her sister's letter to my grandmother in 1921. She did not go home right away, but got married to Patrick. I would love to hear from you!!! -Khris
