LAMBERT in Singapore
Posted by: Paul Phelps (ID *****9370) Date: February 27, 2008 at 07:20:53

Seeking information on the life and family of Rudolph Edward Matthews LAMBERT, b. abt. 1870 in Scotland, m. 3 Mar 1897 in Singapore to Sylvie Eugenie POTTER, an Australian.

Rudolph is listed 1904 as a broker, residing on Flint Street. He (or his children) later moved to Australia.

Rudolph is probably not related to G.R. LAMBERT, the photographer, who was a German.

He may however be related to William LAMBERT, of Lambert's Carriage Works (later Lambert's Driving School), whose nationality is unknown.

Because he was a trader, he may also be related to the Lambert Trading Co. and/or Balmoral-Lambert Trading Co., which still do business in Singapore today.

I will be grateful for any information or clues that might shed new light on these individuals and organizations.
