yes, youre right... John Albert later remarried to Katherine D'Souza if I am correct. Katherine too had her own children from an earlier marriage.

What I am really curious about is the links that go further back to India. What kind of community did they come from? would they be of European parentage? or were the names appropriated?

I've been told that John was a tall man who spoke like an Englishman but was of dark complexion (which could lead me to believe that he was actually Indian but may have adopted a European name through religious conversion. or i could be wrong altogether.

Barry, i'm just talking aloud here, don't worry i'm not expecting you to know the answers.
