Hilda Lacey - matron, Johore Hospital during war
Posted by: Marion Hickmott (ID *****3423) Date: September 08, 2002 at 09:05:16

Does anyone have any info on Johore Hospital - Hilda Lacey I understand, was matron in this hospital and was prisoner of war while she was nursing there. I have little detail except that Hilda was born in 1891 in Plympton, Devon, UK. I would like to know if she remained in the far east, or returned to UK, married or what - any details would be greatly appreciated about conditions during her time at the hospital, work, food availability, treatment of the patients, both physically and mentally while POW etc etc.
