Mrs. Johnson Sims of Philadelphia circa 1944
I have a photograph from a first edition book published in 1944 that is captioned "Mrs. Johnson Sims of Philadelphia."I am trying to find out more information about this Mrs. Sims because she claimed to be descended from the Tew family of colonial Rhode Island.
Some preliminary research strongly suggests that she might be Sarah Pauline Sims, daughter of Barclay/Berkley Johnson, who was born in Wayne, PA and who married Thomas Currie Sims.Thomas Sims and Sarah P. Johnson Sims had at least one child -- a daughter born about 1908 according to the 1910 Census -- who was also named "Sarah P.J. Sims."I believe that one or the other is the woman I am trying to discover and that she went by the name Johnson perhaps to distinguish herself from the other Sarah P.J. Sims.
I would be thrilled to hear from anyone having information about the identity and background of "Mrs. Johnson Sims of Philadelphia" circa 1944.Thank you!
