Seek to substantiate, document, or discount marriage of NATHAN SIMS to Nancy GRIFFIN, daughter of William GRIFFIN, 1725 Wales-1791, Laurens County, South Carolina [s/o John GRIFFIN, circa 1708 Wales] and of Rachel SMITH, 1719, Middlesex County, Virginia. If this relationship can be substantiated, was she a first wife of Nathan or a second wife? Interested in corresponding further with other SIMS researchers about this Nathan SIMS, of either Abbeville, Newberry, Chester, or Union Counties, South Carolina; we do know a Natham SIMS resided in Abbeville District, SC 1790, 434,04; and a Nathan SIMS did have an audit conducted of his Revolutionary War Associations by the state of South Carolina.... and a will does exist for a NATHAN SIMS, of Abbeville District, South Carolina, signed 2 Dec 1802, which enumerates wife, Mary, and known children, including: daughter(s): Amilia SIMS, Leorana SIMS CALHOUN, Sarah SIMS SMITH, Susannah SIMS BOND, Agnes SIMS SMITH; and sons: Downs SIMS, John SIMS, George SIMS, Leonard SIMS, Starling SIMS, William SIMS, Martin SIMS, with Martin, John & Leonard SIMS appointed as Executors.
