My ancestor George Sims of Caswell Co. NC was probably the great nephew of Edward Sims of Hanover Co. VA.He was most likely a nephew of the George Sims mentioned as a veteran of the Indian wars.My George would have been only 14 years old in 1755, as he was born in December of 1740. He may have been a son of John Sims (and Jane Henley?) of western Hanover Co. VA.Before he moved to North Carolina in his early twenties, he married teenager Zebiah Rice, daughter of Thomas Rice.Thomas Rice also moved from Louisa Co. VA to Orange (later Caswell) Co. NC in 1764.George and Zebiah Sims spent one year in Granville Co. NC, and there he wrote the Nutbush Paper.George Sims died in 1809 in Caswell Co. NC.
