To add to the previous post, In the book "Emera Altizer and his descendants", he names a few Simpkins and refers to Daniel Simpkins living in Montgomery Cty, Va. in 1789 and states "his daughter m. Henry Bishop".
Couple items that ties the Simpkins to the Bishop's:
On 7/8/1884 a Daniel B.Simpkins age 69 yrs,3m,5d. died in Floyd Cty,Va.. Place of birth: Pulaski Cty. Parents S.Simpkins & D.Simpkins. J.C.Bishop,informant (friend)
J.C.Bishop was my great grandfather,son of Henry Bishop & Nancy Quesenberry, grandson of Henry Bishop & Fanny Simpkins.
