Simontons - pioneer missionaries to Brazil w/Presbyterians

Ashbel Green Simonton and his brother James Snodgrass Simonton
and their sister "Lillie" all went to Brazil as missionaries. "Lillie" married Rev. Blackford - and they all served there.

James was 4 years older than Ashbel. James taught 3 years at
Vassouras, Rio de Janeiro state. He was a Princeton Univ. graduate.
James was born 20 Mar 1829 at W.Hanover, Dauphin County, PA
He married Jane Lemoyne on 14 Aug. 1886. He was from Washington, PA.

There is much information about this Simonton family on the internet in both English and Portuguese (the language spoken in Brazil)

I am sure any researching this illustrious family would be happy to see the names of parents, siblings and descendents. This family did so much good
in Brazil, where I also served with my husband for almost 30 years.
