I see that you have done quite a bit of research, but I have a question for you. I have done some minor research and I have noticed that the vast majority of Simontons have come from Europe what is the connection to the few African Americans that share the same surname? I have found three "black" Simontons in the country, Ginger Simonton (mmilitary officer) and the ex running back from Oregon. could you please help me out with some information? Oh by the way my grandfather William J Simonton came to Pittsburgh Pa but I do not have any other information on him except that he died sometime in the eighties.
