Thanks to Jim Pearson and Raymond Simonton and numerous other people who have tested with their DNA and by comparison of this information, we now know that the Maine Simontons, William and Andrew Simonton had a common ancestor with Theophilus Simonton from PA and with Robert Simonton from New Jersey. In addition new information has come to us that the theory that Adam Simonton from Western Ohio in 1800 was of the Theophilus Simonton Line from PA. Thanks to the 12 individuals that have tested and provided their data to our Research Group, this is now scientifically proven that there was a common ancestor. Probably other Simonton lines in America are also related that heretofore were not thought to be related. All we need is Male Simontons from those lines to prove the connection. The use of DNA in Family History researh is fairly new and it is very exciting in its ability to bread down barriers in connecting families. Please contact me on how this volunteer researh group can assist you in your search for connections in your family.
