Betty, The Book is available on cd. It was research compillled by James H. Simons and put on cd and offered by Dick Durbin on this forum. Sunfish, Edmonson Co, ky, "Oasis of catholicism". On the Simons forum run a search for "sunfish" it should show up. He charges $10.00 for it and that goes toward the upkeep of the Catholic cemetery at Sunfish.

It is about the descendants of John Simons, The Logsdons, the Durbins and related residents of Sunfish, Edmonson Co. Ky. The only place that Phillip and Peter are mentioned are in the introduction to Simons Genealogy where he says that they are probably brothers of John Simons Sr. Edward Simons Sr. is supposed to be my ancestor and we had thought him to be the son of John Simons Sr. but James says that he was probably a brother too.

The book is a really well researched work and a gold mine of information on the John Simons Sr. descendants, the Logsdons and the Durbins. Other mentioned families are all residents of Sunfish at some time, and related by marriage to these families. Almost all are Catholic.

It was a good source for me because my Edward Simons Sr. migrated to Missouri and to Texas with members of the Logsdon family. The Simons and Logsdons and Durbins are intermarried many times. Everything I ran a census check on has been verified.

He does mention the Family of Keating Simons, and a Benjamin Simons but does not connect them to these Simons. He trys to give some background history of the Simons surname, and lists some early immigrants in the 1600 and 1700's.

I am trying to tell you as much as I can, because I don't want you to get your hopes up too much and be disappointed.

Let me know if you find anything of value to you, and I will do the same. At this point I am ready to try anything in hopes of finding some more connections. Rita
