James Peter Simons James Peter Simons Delta Township, MI Age 79, died October 10, 2007. Jim was born April 10, 1928 in Fowler, MI the son of Richard and Catherine (Bozung) Simon. At a very early age the family moved to Carson City, MI. The sign on his fathers business read "Simon's" hence the added "S" on his name. At 17 he enlisted in the Army Air Force-Air Reserve, and served 3 years. Jim spent 34 years in various positions in the construction business. He was well known for his ability to get along with people, sense of detail, extraordinary memory and ever-ready smile. Jim loved children and always had his pockets filled with candy and gum. His grandsons were his pride and joy. Jim never tired of talking about them and their accomplishments. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alex; infant grandson, James; and Aunt Dorothy. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Geraldine (Spitzley), who he married October 28, 1950; son, James (Leslie) Simons; grandsons, Christopher and Patrick Simons. He is also survived by his extended family "The Spitzleys." Celebration of The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, October 13, 2007, 12:00 p.m. at St. Gerard Catholic Church. The family will receive relatives and friends, Friday, October 12, 2007, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Delta Chapel where a Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Society of The Divine Word in memory of James.
