I realize now that you probably have contact also with Lee Battreal and Mary Simons, and the rest of the clan searching for this family.

Philip J. Simons son of Philip and Mary (Unknown) Simons married Delia King b. 1803 in Virginia. She was the daughter of Stephen King and wife Precilla. Stephen died in about 1814 and Precilla King moved to Logan County, Kentucky along with her mother in law Margaret King (wife of Benjamin King) and a couple of the siblings of Stephen King her deceased husband. Delia King Simons had a brother Benjamin Alfred King and also Alfred King. Alfred King actually owned land next to Philip J. Simons.

Delia King Simons had several brothers in the area also and they may of named children Adelia, it's possible your George married a child or grandchild of one of her brothers.
I have never seen my Delia King Simons as Adelia, only Delia, except I have an old photo album I found and in the index it says Adelia. This could either be Adelia wife of Philip J. Simons or he also had a daughter named Delia after the mother Delia King Simons who I believe either died during or shortly after child birth in about 1840.
Good chance my Delia King Simons name was actually Adelia and shortened. Mary Irene Simons (my line) dau of Philip J. Simons and Delia King had a daugh she named Inez Adelia, therefor Adelia is probably Delia's real full name.

Do you know if your Adelia King wife of George Jr. was married prior to George Jr.? You said it was his 2nd marriage, was it her first or 2nd? Was King her maiden name I guess is what I mean.

I am related to Philip J. Simons b. 1802 son of Philip (b.abt1769) and Mary Unknown Simons of Logan County, Kentucky.
They had a daughter named Mary Irene Simons b. 1829
married Washington Brown Smith (a brick wall for me)
they had a daughter named Mollie Lee Smith, she married
George Woolfolk
they had a daughter named Emma Lee Woolfolk married Kirkwood, had my granmother Emma Jean Kirkwood
she had my mother Deborah, then me.

I have a photo of Philip J. Simons I can email you a scanned copy. I am always looking for other Simons men from this family to compare photos and likeness to.
I found online a photo of Priscilla Simons a daugh of Philip J. Simons and Delia King and compared it to my Mary Irene Simons sister to Priscilla, both photos at an old age, they look like twins. They looked just alike.
