My great grandmother was Louisa Simonds (b. 1843 near Hampton, NY; d. 1914). She married Owen R. Jones (b. 1835 in Wales; d. 1910) and had several children including my grandfather, William Richard Jones (b. 1881 near Granville, NY; d. 1958 in Saranac Lake, NY). Louisa's parents were Luther and Ursula of Hampton, NY.
Louisa had a brother, Edgar (b. 1854 near Hampton, NY) who married Addie Morey (b. 1871) from the Schoharie County, NY area. They lived in Hampton, NY at first and had at least two of their children there - Ethel (b. 1901) and Frank (b. 1902). They moved to Milford, Otsego County, NY by 1910 and also had their third child, Elizabeth (b. 1909) by then.
Between 1910 and 1920, something happened to cause the children to be split up among relatives. Ethel ended up with her uncle, George Morey; Frank ended up with his uncle, Charles Morey. They were all in the Milford area at the time. Elizabeth ended up with my grandfather in the Granville, NY/Wells, VT area.
I can find no record of Edgar and Addie Simonds after 1910. I have checked the Oneonta, NY newspapers at Newspaper Archive; I have found mention of Frank and Ethel, including Frank's obituary from 1963. However, I can't find anything about Edgar and Addie. I would assume they must have been killed or something, but I can't find anything about them.
Does anyone have any idea what became of Edgar and Addie Simonds between 1910 and 1920?
