I'm curious about your husband's Sims ancestry going back to William of New Kent Co., VA. Is he, William Sims, the same person as the William Sims who made his Last Will and Testament in 1710 while residing in then James City Co., VA. and died 17 Feb. 1725/26 in New Kent Co., VA. If so, then your husband and I have him in common as an ancestor. I've devoted many years to searching and compiling a history of this William Sims and his descendants. I'm still unable to determine if or how the William Sims of primary reporting in the book by Lewa W. Prewitt may connect to my proven ancestor, William Sims, of James City County & New Kent Co., VA. [William Sims] and his descendants who was the subject of the book by Lewa W. Prewitt apparently lived most of his life in Richmond Co., VA. where he made his Last Will and Testamnet on 28 April 1716. I do have a copy of the book by Lela W. Prewitt, which I purchased years back. Also have a rather large binder filled with family group forms and information about that William Sims and many of his descendants. Unfortunately, with all I do have I'm still unable to determine if or how those two William Sims may have been related. Getting back to your husband, and the William Sims who was his ancestor. Was he the same William Sims of James City Co., VA. and New Kent Co., VA. If so, which of William's sons was your husband's ancestor? I'm a descendant from William's son Robert Sims, Sr. who made his Last Will and Testament on 10 April 1748 in Louisa Co., VA. where he died in the spring of that year. His son Robert Sims, Jr. was granted bond as Executor fo the said Last Will and Testament. He, Robert Sims, Jr. was next in my line of descendancy. He, Robert Sims, Jr. died about 1792 in Laurens Co., SC. Records prove he had migrated to Laurens Co., SC. from Halifax Co., VA. Charles E. Sims Notify Administrator about this message?
