Moses Darby, the subject of this notice was born in this state of Virginia, on December 30, 1811, and was married to Miss. Sarah Simms, Jan. 1, 1835 ,in after words moved to Illinois, in from whence they came to Missouri, in 1837.He was a minister, but did not engage in that work until 1869, when he united with the Methodist Church ( " the Methodist")he first joined the Methodist Episcopal church in 1833 and remained in that church until 1869.His first wire died in December 1878 in Dallas County Missouri, and he was again married to a very respectable widow lady in 1879, by the name of Smith, who lived in Denton County Missouri, she was the widow of a minister "Uncel Moses" and he was familiarly called , was a consistent, faithful Christian 56 years,and in his classic was which lasted about six months bore his sickness andinfirmity with remarkable patients for a man 78 years old. Moses Darby, was one of solid men of this County;always on his, pious and loyal to his government; he loved the M.E. Church and the Methodist Protestant church and the members of these especially, while he always treated with respect all other branches of Protestant Christians who differed with him in doctrines.Politically he was a member of the Republican party home and after the organization of the party in 1856, scarcely ever felt to growth for every Republican candidate nominated unless you thought the candidate morally unfit for the office.He leaves a widow and their world grown children a number of relatives who are all highly respected systems of our County:and Dallas County. the Derby Family in our accounting and bid loan noted for their honesty, integrity and piety, and we hope that there records will never grow worse.of Moses Darby's obit.
