In the researches for my Butler family, I have info which you may (or may not) want/need for your family.
Elizabeth Butler who married Thornton Sims was a daughter of Aron Butler and his wife, Jane Pitts, of Newberry County, SC.
Aron left a will (1831) in Macon County, NC, naming his children , Elizabeth Sims was one of his daughters.
Do you have the data from Elizabeth Butler Sims on the 1880 US Census? I would appreciate her statement of the birthplace of her father (Aron) and mother(Jane).
A second daughter of Aron Cealy Butler married a Stansel. I have found some Stansel children in Georgia, 1840/1850 in the household of the brother of Elizabeth and Cealy, George William Butler.
All these Butler children were born in Newberry County, too.
