So looks like Laura's parents married about 1887 in TN she married abt 1909. She should have a death certificate, do you have a copy?
TN Marriages 1780-2002 has a James C Simmons married a Annie Loaners Oct 26th 1887 in Cliarborne County TN. The index doesn't have the middle initial C, scanned image of county record as written does.
