Hi Frances, I don't recognise any of your detail but hardly surprising as I am trying to find out if information on a death certificate fits into my family and don't know too much about the particular person I am after. This may be of more use to you than me! Here goes - James Waddell died 1956 at Cumpherton (can't find this place in any gazetteer), East Calder in Midlothian, Oil Worker, the widower of a Mary Margaret Cook Blackwood. No father's name is given but Mum down as Jane Wardell, afterwards Sim, deceased. A son John was the informant. So this Jane went on to marry a Mr.Sim. His age and mum's name are correct for my purposes but I couldn't find his marriage in Scotland, so still in the dark! My group of folks were very ordinary being housekeepers, railway workers, van men and message girls and the only clergy I have found within my family is in another branch. But thank you very much for your kind response - and good luck with your own research, Best wishes, Eileen http://www.geocities.com/elnalexjoe/lowlands.html Notify Administrator about this message?
