Annie Jane Silvers Downs, age 43, of the Iron Duff Community, died Sunday, November 28, 2004 at the Tsali Health Care Center.
She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Melvin and Myrtle Price Silvers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Downs. She enjoyed reading and cooking and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sister, Essie Smith, of Waynesville and a stepmother, Nettie Frizzell Silvers of Clyde.
Gravesides services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Nelson and Reverend Steve Taylor officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Lewis Rathbone, Jack Parton, Roger Parker, Bud Conard, Alan Rathbone, and Willie James.

Clyde—Oscar Hugh Silvers, age 61, Walnut Valley Road, died Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
He was a native and life long resident of Haywood County. He was of the Baptist Faith and was the son of the late Avery and Carrie Messer Silvers.
He is survived by two daughters, Rose Bradley and Debra Messer and her husband Keith, all of Waynesville; four sisters, Thelma Silvers, Doris Messer and Ollie Hodo, all of Waynesville and Bobbie Messer, of Clyde; one brother, Carol Silvers, of Waynesville; and three grandchildren, Brandon Bradley, Colby Messer and Luke Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2003 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. Burial will be at Sugar Cove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill and Ricky Messer, James Silvers, Claude Woody, Richard Gaddis, and Talmadge Jones. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2003, at the funeral home.
