Pablo Silva, the son of Jose Manuel Silva and Maria Leonarda Salazar, married Francisca Varela, the daughter of Gregorio Varela and Juana Catalina Romana Torres, in Belen ca 1805. Juana Catalina Romana Torres was the daughter of Capt. don Diego de Torres (the Founder of Belen, New Mexico) and dona Rafaela Baca.

Pablo Silva and Francesca Varela had a son, Jose Rumaldo Silva (in Sabinal on January 7, 1812) who married Juana Maria Jaramillo y Baca. They had a son Jesus Maria Silva (in Sabinal on April 11, 1841) who married Maria Salome Padilla. They had a daughter, Luisa Silva (in Sabinal on August 14, 1898) who married Francisco Ortega. They had a son Pedro Duplido Ortega (January 18, 1917) who married Maria Cruz Salas. They had a son, Jonathan A. Ortega (in Sabinal on August 8, 1950).

The genealogy shown was confirmed on pages ("Identifying the Six Children of Gregorio Varela and Juana Catalina Romana Torres") 31 thru 38 of the New Mexico Genealogist (published by the New Mexico Genealogical Society) Volume 48, Issue 1, March 2009. This article also connects this family to the Founding Families of Albuquerque and verifies genealogical research that had been previously presented on Pablo Silva and Francesca Varela.
